Wood Pieces
My older wood carvings include the seminal Yew Medusa and The Rebirth of Gaia. I also created a series of what I call “Nooks and Crannies of the Goddess” including Ziggurat, Butte, Omphalos etc. Ziggurat is a large 700-pound wood piece in the form of a breast. Carved animals and plants appear spiraling from the bottom to the top. The breast is seen as a metaphor of the earth and the animals are part of the breast. A new series is my Nike series – three-winged triumphant Goddess images.
